Distance runner, student and seeker of truth.
Bentleys, barcodes & blueberry muffins, the subtitle of this inaugural book,
embodies the journeying spirit of this thoughtful, 20-something. James asks the
hard questions about life and its idiosyncrasies in this self-proclaimed, anti self-help
book that cries out for people to learn from taking a hard look at their existence in
lieu of following status quo or attempting to live life by a manufactured checklist.
It is real. It is raw. It is pure James.
James grew up in the small town of McKean, Pennsylvania in a typical middle
class family with two older brothers. He graduated from West Virginia University
where he competed in both collegiate track and cross country while earning his
Masters of Science degree in Exercise Physiology.
His running career relocated him to Rochester, Michigan, where he competed for
the Hansons-Brooks ODP in venues throughout the United States and the world.
He was the 4th place American finisher in the 2005 Chicago Marathon and the
winner of the 2006 St. George Marathon in Utah.
He is currently pursuing a degree in Chiropractic Medicine and Acupuncture
from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, a branch of Southern California
University.
His adventuresome spirit can be summed up in his philosophy of life: “Sometimes
you have to risk everything to accomplish anything.”
Running @ the Speed of Life is his first work of this type.
